It must be Murphy’s Law or something… everytime I start multi-tasking while surfing BlogExplosion I win Mystery Credits! Tonight I won 25 while attempting to read an article and the day before yesterday I won 50 while writing an entry for my blog. Go figure!
The question is… is this a good or bad thing?

Frankly, I prefer to shop alone. I don’t even like sales people’s assistance unless I specifically ask them about something. Therefore, because of this and because he is a guy and doesn’t like to shop, I don’t go shopping with my husband very often (grocery shopping doesn’t count). Unless he needs new shoes (which for some reason I can never remember his shoe size) I don’t make him shop with me; I buy him things, make him try them on when I get home, and if they don’t fit I take them back.
However, a few weeks ago he went to the eye doctor and found out he needs to start wearing glasses on a full-time basis. The last time he got glasses was 10-15 years ago and so obviously not only are those frames woefully out of date, he had very little idea of what types of frames are “stylish.” Though he cares only marginally about style, he asked me to go with him when he went to pick out frames because I am the resident fashion guru (ha!) in our house. I wasn’t especially looking forward to this, but since I am a sweet wife and since I am going to have to look at him everyday in said glasses, I thought it was probably a good idea.
I myself got a new pair of glasses about a year ago. When I decided to go shopping for them I went to the optometrist, browsed the different frame styles by myself for a couple of hours, and then came back a couple of days later after I had thought about which ones I liked and dealt with the business end of the whole thing. I knew that method wouldn’t work with A. He would want to find a frame as quickly as possible, order them, and be out of there. I didn’t have a problem with that and was prepared to execute my shopping style in fast forward.
So yesterday when we got to the optometrist’s, I tried to show him where the men’s frames were so we could look at them together in peace. At that point I didn’t feel we needed anyone’s help. Once we found a pair that we liked, only then would we need assistance. However, I guess that is where A. and my opinions about shopping differ. Instead of following me upstairs, he sought out a sales representative and had her show him the different styles of frames and such.
Maybe it is just petty, but I was really annoyed with the fact that he made me come along with him so I could help him pick out these frames and then ended up asking the sales representative for advice. Within an hour we found some frames that we all approved of (sales lady included), but I still question why I had to go if he had planned to ask the sales representative to help him pick out the frames in the first place. I suppose he thought it would speed the process up, but I am still somewhat aggravated about it.
