Yesterday I stitched for about four hours (not non-stop, I did take a break to eat, mind you) on “You are never too old for a Teddy Bear,” most of which was done with DMC 987.
This piece is stitching up pretty quickly because it doesn’t have a lot of color changes. As I said, this actually calls for Kreinik threads, but since I don’t have any, I am making adjustments. The greens (DMC 987 and 3818) that I chose are looking wonderful and the cream-colored bear is so cute. On the pattern, the dragon’s tummy is supposed to be black, but I thought a golden yellow (DMC 676) would look better and I was right. Additionally, the pattern calls for gold thread for the dragon’s spots, but I think I will do an assortment of metallic colors instead.
I think if I keep working on it, I could be done by this time next week… we’ll see. Meanwhile, you can see the progress here!
