…the arrival of Séamus Henry Weston Lippy on November 24, 2004 and the completion of his baby announcement on February 20, 2005!
Yes, I am finished with the baby announcement! There wasn’t a whole lot of backstitching and it went quite fast. I spent a couple of hours playing around with the lettering since Séamus has not one, but TWO middle names.
In the end, I had to abandon the alphabet supplied with the pattern because it was too big. So, as you can see, I decided to put his birthdate at the top, followed by his first name with a slightly larger capital letter, then his middle names, and then his last name in the same style as his first name. I left out his length and weight, as I don’t really care for that information on baby announcements anyway.
Even though I didn’t enjoy stitching this piece as much as other Ellen Maurer-Stroh designs I have done in the past, I am quite pleased with the way it turned out. I have decided to make it into a wall hanging and I think in the end it will be really adorable.

So cute! I did a birth sampler last year, and like you I left off the height and weight. I just didn’t think it looked as cute with it on there.
