Smokin’ Needles
24 March 2005
Holy Mac-n-oly! I have been stitching so much yesterday and today that I swear when I put my needle away tonight it was still smoking!
First, I finished whipping up a little spring violet pattern that I bought last week when Susie and I went stash shopping. It is really cute and only took 5 hours to stitch. It came with an Easter Egg cutout to make it into a card, but I was thinking about making it into a little pin cushion instead. We’ll see…
From there I went directly to “Snowdrop Fairy,” which I am stitching for a RR. I had about 30% completed when I started yesterday. I worked on her for about an hour and a half last night but I was kind of bored working on all the white in her dress, so I opted to do her legs and arms for a bit. I definitely needed that change in color! It got me motivated today and so I popped a couple of DVDs into the player and stitched like a mad woman all afternoon.
I am proud to say that she is finished now, except to do the backstitching. I am not planning on stitching any more on her tonight, but I will try and finish her up tomorrow. If I don’t get to her tomorrow (it is my third wedding anniversary after all) my goal is to finish her up by the weekend… a little over two weeks before her post date.
I have to say that I have really enjoyed stitching this little “Flower Fairy.” I can’t wait to do a pattern from the “Flower Fairy” Alphabet Book that I bought last week and maybe I will order a “Flower Fairy” kit or two. I think that the “Lilac Fairy” and The “Lily of the Valley Fairy” are awfully cute and Lily of the Valleys are May’s (my birthday month) flower… but I just bought so much stash in the last couple of weeks I am not sure I could justify it to Hubby. ![]()
If I were a cat with nine lives I would still never have enough time to stitch everything I would like to, but oh well… I guess all I can do is my best and try to stitch a little bit every day! ![]()
