I have been very good and kept up with my goal of stitching for at least an hour a day (I have been going about 90 minutes) since I finished up my chicken RR square.
I have made some significant progress on “Girl’s Time Out” and at 29 hours I can see the finish line! The half stitches that make up the background are tedious and are taking longer than I would have expected, but they are progressing. I am finished with them on the bottom half of the design and have started doing some of the backstitching as well. I think I have somewhere between 5 and 10 more hours (I’m going to go with 7) left before I am finished.
It is a good thing I set that little hour goal, because since this part of GTO is sort of boring, I am afraid I might have lost interest if I tried to work on it in bigger blocks of time.
I will be very excited to get her done because it has been a while since I had a finish of any considerable size. I love doing small projects because they are so quick to finish up, but when I have a larger finish and I see the fruits of my labor, it just feels so good! Besides, I have plans for GTO and am on sort of a deadline.
Once I am finished with GTO, I really, really, really hope that I can work on “Passing Admirers” again. I still love that piece, but for some reason I just haven’t been in the right mood for it. I would really like to get it done before September because I don’t want it to be a WIP for more than a year! Besides, I would really like to do another large project (like one of those Mirabillas), but I have promised myself that “Passing Admirers” must be done before I start any of those.
Well, I think it is best not to get ahead of myself. It seems that when I start thinking about things I want to do in the future I get (st)itchy fingers and start new projects! But for now, I really must focus on getting GTO done!
