A Borrowed SBQ

I saw this floating around on a bulletin board a few weeks ago and thought it would make a good Stitching Blogger’s Question, so I borrowed it:

Do you feel the need to stitch a design from a specific designer just to say that you’ve experienced stitching one of their designs?

For me the answer is a firm “sort of.”

I have discovered so many new designers since I took my cross stitching online last year that sometimes it boggles my mind. A select few of these designers I have totally fallen in love with and can’t wait to stitch their designs.

But to be honest I don’t want to stitch them just because I like the designs when I see the models or someone’s WIP. It is also partly because I can’t wait for the day when I can finally say I finished my first TW (or Mirabilia or Lavender and Lace). I feel like when I finally get a chance to stitch (and finish) them that I will have moved on to a whole new level of stitching.

However, that being said, I would never stitch a design that I didn’t like just to say that I had stitched it.
