bird Blogger’s Pressure
2 July 2005

In some ways, I feel like I owe my readers an apology. My blogging has been… shall we say “light” over the past couple of months. I know there are a lot of bloggers out there that only update a couple times a week or even less, but once I found my blogging voice I made an agreement with myself that I would write a post of substance five days a week.

I was doing really well there for a while, but ironically about the time I was asked to write for Expatica.com, some sort of blogger’s block reared its ugly head. I used to sit down each day and the words just seemed to flow from my fingers. However, nowadays when I sit down I might stare at a blank Word document for an hour without producing anything. I simply don’t feel like anything is happening to me anymore that is really worth publishing.

So, while I hope to get back to publishing a post of substance five days a week sometime in the near future, right now I am taking the pressure off myself and have decided I will just write when I feel like it.

That being said however, I do have a post about the Fourth of July that has been buzzing around in my head for the past day or two, so I will publish it soon. :)

bird June Recap/July Goals

My June goals were:

  1. Continue to stitch at least 90 minutes a day, with the exception of the week of June 5, because I will be on vacation. I didn’t do so hot on this goal in June. There were a total of 12 days when I didn’t stitch AT ALL… and not just during my vacation either!
  2. Continue with “Passing Admirers” as my focus piece. (Stitch a minimum of 20 hours on it during the month.) I came very close! I managed to stitch 18 hours and 30 minutes on “Passing Admirers” and if my wrist hadn’t hurt the other day I would have made it.
  3. Stitch one or two more pansies on “Stiefmütterchen,” my SAL with Susie. I stitched one more pansy on this piece.
  4. Continue working on my “Little Stitch Devils” and my “Guardian Cherub.” I put 45 minutes into “LSDs” and decided on the color conversion for the Cherub’s dress, though I didn’t stitch any on her.
  5. Work on any RRs that come my way. No RRs came my way.

My July goals are:

  1. Continue to stitch at least 90 minutes a day.
  2. Continue with “Passing Admirers” as my focus piece with the goal of finishing it by September 10, 2005. (Stitch a minimum of 20 hours on it during the month.)
  3. Finish EMS RR
  4. Start Stitching Bloggers’ RR.
  5. Continue working on my “Little Stitch Devils” and my “Guardian Cherub.”
  6. Stitch pansy #6 on “Stiefmütterchen,” my SAL with Susie.

My July goals aren’t much different than my June goals, but if I have a productive stitching month my August goals should be more interesting! :)
