bird Speaking of Evenweave…

Since I started stitching on Evenweave I have almost completely stopped stitching with Aida. When Dawn switched over to Evenweave a few months ago, she told me she couldn’t believe how much neater the back of her stitching was on Evenweave.

I hadn’t really thought about it, but when I compare pieces I have done on Aida and on Evenweave, I think she has a point. My Evenweave backs seem much neater than my Aida cloth ones and I think I know why:

When I stitch on Evenweave, I am more careful with my counting. Sometimes I quadruple check to make sure I have gone over two and because I am nervous about whether or not I counted correctly, I am more apt stitch section by section rather than color by color. Stitching section by section makes me less likely to carry my thread very far and, as a result, I think my stitching on Evenweave is neater.

But I would like to know what you think about the subject. And that, of course, brings me to the Stitching Blogger’s Question of the Week, and that is:

Do you think that you stitch neater on Evenweave than you do on Aida cloth? If so, why?

bird Kaffee Zeit

Language Week; July 4-8, 2005 Ich trinke keinen Kaffee.

Translation: I don’t drink coffee. I find the smell heavenly, but the taste nasty. I drank “Café au Lait” when I was in France and in New Orleans, but normally I don’t drink coffee.

I tried coffee when I was a student: After all, it was the 90’s and coffee was very popular. I remember when the first Starbucks in Iowa opened. My friends and I were cool and we drank a lot of coffee while we sat around listening to music and writing and reading poetry.

I thought that one day I would eventually develop a taste for coffee, but I had a reason not to like it. Every time I drank it, it gave me a stomach ache. (And still does to this day.) So now I just drink Coke to get my daily caffeine fix!
