In some ways, I feel like I owe my readers an apology. My blogging has been… shall we say “light” over the past couple of months. I know there are a lot of bloggers out there that only update a couple times a week or even less, but once I found my blogging voice I made an agreement with myself that I would write a post of substance five days a week.
I was doing really well there for a while, but ironically about the time I was asked to write for Expatica.com, some sort of blogger’s block reared its ugly head. I used to sit down each day and the words just seemed to flow from my fingers. However, nowadays when I sit down I might stare at a blank Word document for an hour without producing anything. I simply don’t feel like anything is happening to me anymore that is really worth publishing.
So, while I hope to get back to publishing a post of substance five days a week sometime in the near future, right now I am taking the pressure off myself and have decided I will just write when I feel like it.
That being said however, I do have a post about the Fourth of July that has been buzzing around in my head for the past day or two, so I will publish it soon. ![]()

in actual fact says:
I’m blaming the weather, I’ve fallen into a routine of visiting biergarten, spending the evenings grilling and lazing in the sun. Oh and visiting Paris for the Blogger’s picnic that petite, antipo déesee et al organised, I can’t tell you enough how wonderful they all are - has anyone ever considered a German ex-pat bloggers equivalent?. Oh okay, I stayed for the whole, long weekend. Paris is fun - if hot and sticky.
Actually, it’s one of the problems of writing an “expat blog” after one has remarked upon all the little quirks, the positives and negatives of this strange and gleichzeitig wondrous land, I don’t want to write posts about meeting another example of idiotic, bureaucratic lunacy, although I wish they would occur with less regularity.
“Fly like an Igel” really did made me smile though…..
