Well, it is just about an hour and a half shy of October first here, so that means it is Goal Day!
As a reminder, my September Goals were:
1.) Stitch a little bit every day.
** Even though I have been pretty busy in September, I managed to stitch a little bit almost every day. Though some days I only managed around thirty minutes, most days I got in at least an hour. I wasn’t feeling very well last week so I completely missed a couple of days, but overall the plan to just stitch a little bit every day seems to have worked pretty well. **
2.) Finish my exchanges and mail them out on time. (Sept 12 and 30 post dates)
** Yep. I mailed out my NR Exchange on the 12th and even got my Halloween exchange in the mail a few days ahead of time. **
3.) Finish the cross stitching on “Passing Admirers.”
** Yep. Small Happy Dance!
**
I also managed to start on Dawn’s Dragons for the Stitching Bloggers’ Round Robin, stitch up a mini sampler, and finish the borders for my Stitching Bloggers’ Seasonal Round Robin. Considering how “busy” I was supposed to be, I certainly seem to have gotten in a lot of stitching time!
Now, for October I hope to:
1.) Stitch a little bit every day.
2.) Mail out my EMS RR a few days before its post date of October 10.
** I am already finished with the stitching, so I just need to write in the logbook and mail it off. **
3.) Finish my “Water Dragon” for Dawn’s Stitching Bloggers’ Round Robin.
** November 1 post date **
4.) Finish Dawn’s gift for the Stitching Bloggers’ Birthday Exchange.
** November 15 birthday, November 7 post date **
5.) Start and finish my square for my Stitching Bloggers’ Seasonal Round Robin
** November 15 post date **
6.) Start (and finish?) the backstitching and beading on “Passing Admirers.”
7.) If time permits, stitch my next SAL pansy on “Stiefmütterchen” with Susie.
Last month exchanges dominated much of my stitching time, but this month it looks like it will be round robins. I am having lots of fun with exchanges and round robins, but I have decided not to sign up for (or organize) any more for a while… after all, I would like to stitch for myself again one of these days!

Item Number One:
Today my first round robin finally made its way back to me! happy dance! I am so relieved to finally get it back.
This round robin didn’t go as smoothly as I had hoped because one of our members totally flaked out on us during the last go-round. She had my robin and from what I understand wasn’t too keen on returning it to the organizer. However, somehow the organizer managed to get it back from her and then was nice enough to stitch the empty square on my robin that was originally supposed to be stitched by the flaky lady.
All in all, I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out: The square in the upper left-hand corner was stitched by yours truly, the one in the upper right-hand corner was stitched by Susie, the one in the lower left-hand corner was stitched by Kathy (our organizer), and the one in the lower right-hand corner was stitched by Sharon.
I am not exactly sure what I am going to do with it, but I was thinking of finding some springy-looking flowery fabric and making it into a pillow.
Item Number Two:
I finally decided what to stitch for the Stitching Bloggers’ Seasonal Round Robin: Passione Ricamo’s “Seasonal Topiaries.” This freebie series was only available on her website for a short time (in fact, I think it has already been removed) so I feel lucky that I was regularly checking and managed to get all four seasons downloaded. I got the borders done yesterday and will be ready to start stitching “Spring” over the weekend.
Item Number Three:
Dawn’s Water Dragon now has half a head!

No, I am not quitting blogging, the title of this post refers to this week’s SBQ!
It was suggested by Cheryl (Cheryl, if you have a blog let us know the address please!
)and is:
Have you ever just quit a project while in the midst of it? (We’re not referring to UFOs here, rather projects that you know that you’ll never work on again.) Why? What did you do with it - throw it out, give it away, put it away?
I can honestly say that I have never purposely quit a project in the middle of it with the intention of never working on it again. I have had some UFOs in my day (and I have a few right now), but I have always eventually finished them.
Wait! I just thought of something… One time I had a bookmark that for some reason I could just not get centered. After I frogged it and started over three times, I came to the end of my patience and cut it up in little pieces and threw it away.

OK, since he isn’t due until January, technically he will be a boy, but I just got the message from my sister that she is having a baby boy. This is exciting news because in our family boys are quite rare. I guess now the baby sampler that I am planning on stitching won’t have to be so neutral in color…
