I Hate Black Fabric!
3 September 2005 8 CommentsWhy, oh why, didn’t I remind myself how much I absolutely HATE stitching on black fabric before I decided to stitch my Halloween exchange on it?! Sure with all that bright orange, yellow, and white the pattern looks absolutely charming on the black fabric, but I still find that stitching on black is a big pain in my ass!
During daylight hours when I have decent light coming in through my living room window it is manageable, but at night it is damn near impossible! I have to aim the light directly at my stitching so that I can see the holes in the fabric and even then I keep miscounting… not to mention the fact that when the light shines directly on the fabric I squint, making my eyes tired.
Of course it also didn’t help that when I was half way through my pattern I decided that I didn’t like what I was doing and started over with another pattern that “needed” to be stitched on black fabric as well.
Oh well. Luckily this new pattern is fairly small and I am half way done with it already. I should finish the stitching tomorrow.
Speaking of finishing… I am finished with the stitching on my needleroll exchange (yeah!). It just needs to be finished into a needleroll now. Then a week from this Monday I can mail it off and officially say that I have participated in my first stitching exchange. ![]()
