Some Updates

Exchange News:

I think that secret exchanges are fun, but I must say they don’t make for very interesting blog material, now do they?

Anyway, this morning I finished off my needleroll. It turned out very nice if I do say so myself, even though it ended up being a bit larger than I had expected. I am sure my exchange partner will really like it because it fits her to a tee! I still need to photograph the finished product so that I can eventually post a picture here and then I will toddle down to the post office Monday and send it on its way.

I am also almost finished with my Halloween exchange. I need to do the backstitching and then the official stitching will be done. I have decided that I am going to make it into an ornament so I will have to do some stitching for the backside, but I don’t foresee any problems getting it done and mailed by the post date.

Stitching Bloggers’ Round Robin News:

For those of you that also follow Dawn’s blog, you will be happy to know that neither hurricane nor incompetent post office workers were able to delay my receiving her robin. I got it on Tuesday and promptly went online to order the threads I need to start on my square. Her theme is the Dragon Dreams “Elemental Dragons” Freebie Series. She did “Fire” and I have chosen to do “Water.”

For those of you that don’t know, Dawn is my very best friend (of 20 years!) in real life. I think that one of the reasons that we have been friends for so long is that though we have many similarities, we can also be complete opposites. Therefore, I have decided to represent this by stitching “Water,” the element that is most opposite of her “Fire.”

Then on Wednesday I got an email from Cathy telling me that she had received my “Tea Time” robin and was anxious to get started. I recently read that she decided to do the “Delft Teapot.” I find this slightly amusing because for some odd reason, I just knew she would choose to do that particular teapot! I don’t know why, I just had a feeling that was the one she would like the best.

I am so happy with the way this robin is turning out so far. Everyone mailed on time and it seems like all the packages are reaching their destinations without any major difficulties.

I have also organized another round robin with some other stitching bloggers. (Yes, I know… I am a glutton for punishment! ;))We are just getting started with this one, but it has a set theme of the seasons. I have already picked out the pattern and fabric for this robin; I am just waiting to get all of my exchanges taken care of before seriously starting on it.

“Passing Admirers” News:

Unfortunately, I don’t have too much to report. I haven’t had a chance to work on it lately and I have now officially passed the one year mark on this project. I was really hoping to have it done this month, but with school and all the exchanges, I just don’t think it is going to happen. I am planning on working on it once my exchanges are done though, so maybe I can get it finished sometime in October… we’ll see.
