A Rotation SBQ and an SBRR Update

Just when I thought that I was going to have to think up the SBQ for the first time in many weeks I got a suggestion from Outi, so I guess I am off the hook for yet another week! ;) Anyway, her question is:

How do you ‘non-hoopists’ who use a rotation system handle it (as it seems to be lot easier if you are in good terms with hoop)? Do you have several scroll frames? Do you use Q-snaps or maybe something completely different? Or do you just have one or two big projects and others are small enough to be kept in hand while stitching?

I am on good terms with my hoop, so I guess the question doesn’t really apply to me this week. However I will say that even though I rotate and use a hoop, since I don’t leave my hoop on my projects I have no problem using the same hoop for all of them.

Latest Finish, 12.10.05; Dragon of Water for Dawn's SBRR - Click for a larger image! In other news, today I finally received the Kreinik I was waiting for to finish Dawn’s RR Square. The Kreinik is actually still on back-order from my regular ONS, but I had to order some Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid from another ONS since my regular one doesn’t carry RG.

When I ordered the RG from ONS #2 (on Monday afternoon) I took the opportunity to order that particular Kreinik color from them too. I figured that between the two ONSs I should get the Kreinik before the RR’s November 1st post date. ONS #2 must have had the Kreinik in stock and since they are geographically located closer to me, I got the Rainbow Gallery and the Kreinik in about 48 hours!

Of course I will eventually have two spools of Kreinik #4 VF Braid in Star Blue, but since blue is my favorite color I am sure I will find some use for it. I think in the future I will order my specialty threads from Shop #2 because it seems to have a better selection with quicker delivery.

I was so excited to get the Kreinik that I spent most of the afternoon working on my “Water Dragon” for Dawn’s RR and have almost finished it. I just need to do the backstitching now. Perhaps I will have a happy dance (and picture) to share before bedtime.

P.S. Thanks for all the comments about Hubby’s birthday cube. He liked it a lot! :)
