This week’s SBQ was suggested by Dawn and is:
When comparing large projects versus small projects, which do you get more excited about finishing?
Hmm… this is kind of a difficult question for me to answer!
My first thought was large projects; because after all the time and effort that I spend on them, they are definitely exciting to finish. Of course, I only just completed my first “large” project about a week ago, so I am still pretty excited about it.
However, since I am an instant gratification kind of girl, I get great satisfaction from finishing small projects too.
Then again, my excitement also depends a lot on how I feel about the pattern and what sort of effort went into it. For example, “Tempest in a Teacup” wasn’t exactly a large project, but since I put so much work into the color conversion I was really excited to get it done and very pleased with my results.

1.) Yesterday I replaced the running stitch on my Watering Cans RR with a more elaborate border. I had actually always planned on doing this, but it wasn’t until yesterday that I got inspired. The border was designed by me and is based on a doodle that I always draw when I am sitting in class or a meeting and I am bored! It is a vine with leaves and flowers and I chose the colors for the flowers based on some fabric I bought last week that I am going to use to make this round robin into a tuck pillow.
2.) After sitting in my Temporary UFO pile for over six months, I have finally started working on “Stitcher’s Sampler” again. Since I didn’t have too much done on this piece to start with, it was almost been like beginning a new project! In fact, I thought I had all the colors for it, but I came across one that I am missing, so I guess I will have to go the craft store soon. So far I have put 5 hours of a 15-hour rotation into it, but won’t I post a progress picture just yet because not much visible progress has been made.
3.) I got some stash in the mail today. About a week ago I found a chart that I think will work for Jo’s RR and even though I won’t get the RR for a while yet, I decided to go ahead and get Bent Creek’s “Signs of Spring” so that I am ready when I finally do get Jo’s fabric.
While I was shopping, I also came across Margaret Sherry’s “Snowman.” This little guy is so cute that I couldn’t resist him and though I haven’t started him yet, I will be doing so very, very soon!
