Incoherent Scribblings

Here is a sample of what I have been working on the past few days: Margaret Sherry’s “Snowman.”

I am having great fun stitching him and I really love the fabric that came in this kit. According to the Heritage Stitchcraft website, this mint-green fabric is 28 count “vintage” Juliana, but I think that it looks hand-dyed because it has a really nice marbled look to it. Either way, it is really neat fabric.

However, I am a little confused about it: According to Zweigart, Juliana is made of cotton, but when I look at it, the fabric strands are uneven like linen. I must admit that I am no expert when it comes to fabrics, so I am asking those of you out there with a little more fabric knowledge than me: Is it possible that the fabric could be uneven like linen but still be cotton?

I estimate that I am about 50% finished with “Snowman,” therefore if he continues to scream at me I could quite possibly have a happy dance by the end of the week… and according to the weather forecast it might be just in time for our first snow of the season!

12. Looking forward to the holidays? I don’t do holidays.
13. Where do you want to be this instant? On the beach somewhere warm and sunny.
14. What’s for lunch? I don’t eat lunch.
15. What’s something you would like to do soon? Get on an airplane and fly west.
16. Reading anything now? What is it? I just finished The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.
17. What’s for dinner? I am still contemplating that… maybe Swedish Meatballs
18. A favorite part of the day is… late afternoon.
