Pink Progress

Here is the latest progress picture of my cat for Vash’s “Cats in Floral Hats” round robin. As you can see, I made some great progress this weekend!

This cat has been fun to stitch, but has taken longer than I expected it to. I suppose it is partly because those flowers had a lot of color changes in them and all that stopping and threading the needle over and over bit into the actual stitching time. I am quite happy with the way they have turned out though.

One thing that I have noticed about this piece is that I don’t really get the complete effect that the colors are making until I step away from it. When it is up close to my face it just looks like a few stitches of each color here and there. However, when I scan it and look at as a whole the colors really work together to make the picture. It is still a bit fuzzy and abstract, but I think once I do the backstitching that it will really look great.

Currently, I would say that I am about 80% finished with it and my plan is to finish this week. I would like to go out on a limb and say I will finish it by Wednesday (and that is when I will shoot for), but I don’t want to promise anything. However, I am sure it will be finished by this time next week.
