Cat Scratch Fever
For those of you who read the cat post a week or so ago, you are already aware that Mouse (my Maine Coon) has been known to have a bit of an attitude.
Well, yesterday when I was trying to carefully comb a really bad tangle from her underside she gave me a dose of that attitude: She sliced open the ball of the middle finger on my left hand through the leather gloves I was wearing in a display of protest! (Yes, I wear leather gloves when I comb her. I learned the hard way a long time ago!) Amazingly the wound didn’t hurt that much, but the tip of my finger was numb most of the day.
Now luckily I am right-handed so the scratch hasn’t affected my stitching too much, except that I support the hoop with my left hand and usually run the thread through my left index and middle fingers when I stab down. This wouldn’t necessarily be a problem either, except before I put a Band-Aid on I managed to stab the wound with my needle a couple of times… and THAT hurt!
Even so, I managed to spend some quality time with “Catch the Wind” today. Anna is coming along nicely and I am close to half way done with her skirt already. However, the best part is that once I reach the half way point on Anna I will also consider myself half done with the whole piece… and that won’t be long now!
I have also been busy getting organized to organize the second installment of the Stitching Bloggers’ Round Robin. Can you believe I have almost 20 people interested?!
Tomorrow Hubby and I will be leaving town to go to the in-laws for a couple of days so I think I will take along “Catch the Wind” and see if I can make some progress while I attempt to hide from my mother-in-law. (hee hee)
