Snowy Weekend
6 March 2006

Latest Finish: 06.03.06; Christmas Eve for Laurie's RR - Click for a larger image! Over the weekend approximately 50 centimeters (or 20 inches) of snow was dumped on the Munich area and as a result, when I wasn’t out playing in the snow (Note to self: Really must buy a pair of snow boots) I was stitching. I mostly worked on exchange pieces, so the only picture I can show right now is one of Laurie’s RR, but I am sure that will suffice. ;)
So anyway, on to the stitching report!

On Friday I worked on Cathy’s birthday present and because the stitching was quick and I was really itching for spring as I watched the fat flakes fall outside my living room window, I started my Spring Exchange for the SBEBB. I picked out the cutest design for the Spring Exchange and am stitching it on greenish fabric… I really hope my exchange partner likes it! I am currently debating between two finishing methods, so I hope when I am done the piece will scream, “Finish me this way!”

Then on Saturday after I spent most of the day incorporating the stash that I picked up while I was in the US into my existing stash, I completed the stitching on Cathy’s birthday present. I was too lazy to get my sewing machine out to finish it though, so then I worked some more on Laurie’s RR. I continued working on Laurie’s RR yesterday and even thought that I might finish it. However, since I ended up only stitching for a measly hour yesterday I didn’t. Despite that, I am probably about 80% finished with it and once I finally sit down to stitch today I think I can have it done in two to three hours. Edited at 20:05 to add: Laurie’s RR is now finished!

And finally, today I pulled out the sewing machine and after I did all the pesky mending that had been sitting in the “to be mended” pile for three or four months, I finished Cathy’s birthday present. This was the first time I had done this particular finishing method and as usual I know how to do it differently next time, but overall I am pleased with results. As soon as I put Cathy’s little birthday package together, I will mail it off to Australia.

And now I am off to pick up my needle! TTFN! :D
