bird SBQ Picture Day
7 June 2006

Four Seasons Cats - Spring (backside), Progress as of 07.05.2006 - Click for a larger image! Over the past couple of weeks I received two SBQ suggestions that request pictures so I decided to put them together for an SBQ picture day. Feel free to post pictures concerning either or both requests. :)
The first request comes from Vash who is requesting pictures of the back of your stitching… are you brave enough to give this one a shot?

As I have always been quite proud of my backside, (Hee! That could so totally be taken the wrong way!) I am certainly brave enough to post a picture of the back of my stitching. If you look to the top of this post you will see the back of my Wednesday project. (”Four Seasons Cats – Spring”)

The second request comes from Singular Stitches, and she is asking for “a pictorial tour of [the] special place that you go to create your wonderful stitched creations.”

My Stitching Space

My stitching area includes my wicker basket and couch. I sit on the right-hand side of the couch next to the basket and use the wicker basket for storage and a make-shift endtable. The entertainment center is across from the couch so that I can either watch TV or listen to music while I stitch. As no stitching area would be complete without a cat, you can see Scooter perched on top of the couch (one of his favorite spots).

However, what you can not see are the other two (Harley and Mouse) who are sitting in their favorite spots next to my computer and amongst my other stitching/sewing supplies. The computer is behind the couch with scanner and printer. I store my sewing machine under the scanner in an area that was originally used for my desktop and my printer sits on a small bookshelf that contains my charts, magazines, freebie notebooks, sewing box, and a few other miscellaneous stitching supplies.

Finally, if you look above my computer you will see one of my “Stitching Walls of Fame.” Some of my favorite projects are hung there to give me inspiration and encourage me to continue “painting with my needle.”

bird A New Round Robin
4 June 2006

Sunflowers for my RR, Progress as of 04.06.06 - Click for a larger image! I have been sort of sick the past few days because last weekend Hubby went to a conference in Vienna and all he brought home for me was a stupid cold! This, however, did not stop me from stitching and I have been diligently working through my rotation with the exception of yesterday.

Instead of working on my Saturday project yesterday, I decided to work some on my round robin that I am stitching with Bea, Beth, and Kara. (This round robin is one of the robins that I organized and is going on over on The Robin’s Nest.)

My theme for this robin is “Summer” and I am stitching an EMS freebie called “Sunflowers” for my square. The sunflowers are almost entirely made up of full cross stitches and I am stitching on Aida so they are stitching up pretty fast and easy.

And while it is nice for the stitcher when something stitches up with no problems it unfortunately makes rather boring blog material so I guess I will just end the post here and go back to my stitching. :P
