Greetings from the midnight to eight shift! As I mentioned in my last post, I am working part-time for my dad while I am waiting to get a library job. My dad is a deputy sheriff in Small County Iowa and I am dispatching for them part-time. This shift is pretty quiet, so I imagine this will not be my last post from the sheriff’s office. ![]()
Anyway, I just realized that I have yet to post a picture of the needleroll exchange that I received from Christine last week. I love this little needleroll and can’t wait until I get my own place so that I can display my ever-growing needleroll collection.
Today (OK, technically yesterday) I got my Crazy Cat Lady Exchange from Judith. As you can see, she stitched me a Britty Kitties design and made it into a little flat-fold. (If you look closely at the top right-hand corner of the picture you can see Scooter checking out my CCLE.)
Judith also included some goodies: Two skeins of Gloriana silk! This is my first silk thread and I have to say that I am having so much fun fondling it that I am not sure if I want to stitch with it! ![]()
I have been working on my square for Mylene’s round robin and am getting pretty close to finishing it. However, today I was in the mood to stitch something else, so I finally got my act together and started my scissor fob exchange. Since it is a fob, it is a small design and I was able to finish the stitching today… Now I just have to put the fob itself together.
I brought my stitching with me tonight so after I finish up here I will probably pull it out and work on Mylene’s robin while I wait for something to happen… Even though I hope nothing actually does.

Welcome to the wonderful world of shift work - I can appreciate those hours very well myself
Your needleroll and CCLE’s are beautiful - awesome in fact
And I personally adore Gloriana silks, they’re so scrummy to stitch with
Great to hear you’re settling in well at home

The needleroll is lovely, and the Britty Kitty is very cute. Very fun exchanges. I haven’t done a flatfold yet, but am wanting to try as it looks like a great way to display items. I have a Halloween design in mind I’d like to try it on.

The needleroll and flat fold are both very pretty. Very nice exchange pieces and how nice to receive some Gloriana Silk too.
