Which Way?

20:32 sbq

This week’s SBQ was suggested by Vash and is:

Which way do you stitch, i.e. do you stitch /// followed by \\\ on top, or the other way around \\\ followed by ///? Are you left- or right-handed and do you think that this affects the way that you stitch?

I stitch /// followed by \\\ and I am right-handed.

I have often wondered if whether or not which “handed” you are makes a difference in which direction you stitch. In fact, for the longest time I assumed that if you were left-handed you would stitch \\\ and then ///.

I suppose it is possible that your dominant hand has something to do with which direction you stitch, but I have been asked to stitch opposite of “my” way and as long as reminded myself to do it when I first picked up my needle I didn’t have a problem switching.

I usually stitch \\\ followed by ///, although at the moment I’m stitching on so many RR’s I’m not sure how I stitch anymore (I just had to check). The reason I posed this question is that from most of the RRs I have stitched on, nearly every other stitcher seems to stitch the other way around to me and I wondered whether the fact that I was left-handed had anything to do with it?

It will try to explain in my bad English, I I use the English method, greater information to see this Link, and soon embroider the first leg/in the misfortune/of above and soon I close with \, this gives greater tension to the embroidering, and it does not create the zurcos of the Danish.

Took a while because of software issues, but I’m posted.

And something’s wonky on the comment page here, everyone’s existing comments are crossing over the margin line, and the fill-in boxes here where I leave a new comment are all rolled off the edge and partly non visible…

Me again… now that I’ve posted, it all shows up fine on my screen… go figure. Bugs are following me everywhere!
