I was about ¾ of the way finished on the border of “Poet’s Heart” on Tuesday when I discovered a mistake in the sky background. The sky was one column too skinny and it threw the entire border off. (I stitch vertically most of the time, is that weird?) So, after spending a couple of hours frogging the border and adding the missing column, I finished Band #10 on “Poet’s Heart” last night. I am very happy with the way it turned out too. I think the backstitching gives the moon so much personality!
Of course, now that I have completed this particular May goal I am not sure what to do next. I do know that I am ready to put “Poet’s Heart” away, so I started flipping through some patterns to see if I could find something for Catherine-Michele’s Birthday Exchange last night but nothing jumped out at me. I then considered starting LHN’s “Small House Sampler,” but I could tell I wasn’t in the mood yet. I also thought about a surprise project that has been in the back of my mind for a while now, but for some reason I couldn’t find the color key to the pattern I was going to stitch for the surprise project, so that didn’t happen either.
I have it kitted up, but I am not sure if I am ready to start “Spring Queen” yet, so maybe I will work on “Fairy Flora” or start the “Summer” cat on “Four Seasons Cats” instead. Then again, if properly inspired I may do something completely different… One just never knows what will happen in the crazy world of “Stitched with Love and Cat Hair,” does one?
(I have had a couple of requests for a pic of “Poet’s Heart” as a completed project. Click here to see the model!)
