The Last Round
04 June 2007 20:56 round robins, exchanges, & gifts
I am pleased to announce that except for the backstitching, I am done with the round robin square I am stitching. This will be my last round robin until further notice because frankly, I am burned out on robins and exchanges. It has become somewhat of a struggle for me to get the ones I have been involved in done lately, so I think it is time to take a break.
That being said, I have to say it has been fun to stitch this last square. I believe I mentioned it a couple of posts ago, but I chose to stitch the left-most cat of Margaret Sherry’s “Caterflies” for this robin. It’s been a while since I stitched something by Margaret Sherry, but as usual I had a great time stitching this little kitty. I don’t know… There is something about Sherry’s cat designs. Every time I stitch one I think that I would just love to tickle him if he were real!
Because the round robin fabric I am stitching is Aida I obviously stitched him on that, but I strongly recommend stitching Margaret Sherry’s designs on Evenweave: The partial stitches look much better and are simply easier to do using Evenweave as opposed to Aida.
Once I finish backstitching “Caterflies” Cat #1, the next step in my new ten-hour rotation system will be to move on to “Above the Clouds.” If my records are correct, I haven’t worked on Confetti since sometime back in March. Even though progress has been slow on this piece, every time I browse through my online gallery I am amazed at how much I have actually done.
And now, back to backstitching! Look for a little round robin finish later this week. ![]()
