Above the Clouds, Progress as of 07.08.07 - missing image! I have been finished with my rotation on “Above the Clouds” for about a week now and am now well into my rotation on “Fairy Flora,” but I thought I would show a picture of where I am on “Above the Clouds.” Considering how much frogging I had to do on Confetti, I am pleasantly surprised how fast the rocks seem to be working up. I see a happy dance on the horizon soon! :D

On the exchange front, I have sent and received my final exchange, The Monochromatic Exchange. My exchange went out my partner yesterday. As soon as I hear that it arrives I will show a pic. I received a lovely heat-shaped ornament from Karin in shades of cream to khaki. She also included one of her bracelets and some silk floss in beautiful shades of purple and blue. I have not yet taken a picture of the exchange, but as soon as I do, I will share.

As I mentioned, this exchange concludes my exchange participation for the near future. I have really enjoyed the exchanges that I have done and love all the friends that I have made. I want to once again thank everyone who has sent me something and I hope that anyone that ever received anything from me is pleased with what they got.

And finally, after a couple of month’s break, I am once again ready to jump in to a monthly Stitch-A-Thon! This weekend is our first SAT at Stitch-A-Thons and it is my plan to stitch something small so I can have a happy dance this month. I am so glad Outi had the idea to continue with this fun social activity. If you have a mind to join us, visit our blog and let us know. :)

A Slight Disappointment

After a whirlwind two weeks in which I barely had time to breathe, I returned from my second interview Friday afternoon to a message that a public library about 100 miles north of Small Town, Iowa where I had recently applied for a library director position also wanted to interview me. Before I even had a chance to unpack I called and managed to set up a third interview in as many weeks for this coming Wednesday.

Although I was looking forward to the upcoming interview at the public library, I felt that the previous two interviews had gone extremely well and spent most of the weekend pondering the possibility that I might get two, or even three, job offers very soon. I made a list of the pros and cons of the first two positions and discovered that even though it was a tough decision and an offer for either position would be welcome, it was the first position that I really wanted.

Therefore when the telephone rang this morning, I answered it with anticipation: I had received a message while I was away at the second interview that the library director from the first interview would be calling me with news Monday morning. I was ready to say “yes” when the director broke the news that they had decided to hire another candidate. I kept a smile in my voice as I thanked her for letting me know her decision so promptly, but needless to say, I was pretty disappointed.

After mourning the loss of the opportunity for a few minutes, I pulled myself up by my bootstraps and reminded myself that all is not lost: I still have a chance of getting offered the second position and maybe even the third. We’ll just have to wait and see…
