I almost decided to skip the whole “goal post” thing this month because I already know that between school, work, and my budding social life I didn’t accomplish much in July, but what the heck, let’s see what I didn’t do in July shall we?
- Pass both of my summer classes with flying colors! - I’m batting a 4.0 so I guess I can say I accomplished this goal.
- Continue my Sunday SAL with Dawn. -Yep!
- Participate in the June SAT. - Nope. I had to work that weekend.
- Work on “Fairy Flora.” - Didn’t even pull her out of the WIP pile.
- Start “Tapestry Cat.” - It’s kitted up, but that’s it.
- Start Round 2 of the UFO Robin. - Yep! Almost finished too! See progress picture below.
For August I want to:
- Post to my blog at least 10 times. (Posts do not necessarily have to be stitching related.)
- Continue my Sunday SAL with Dawn.
- Participate in the August SAT.
- Work on “Fairy Flora.”
- Start “Tapestry Cat.”
- Mail Round 2 of the UFO Robin. (Mail date August 15)
Hmm… those goals look suspiciously like my July ones, don’t they?

This summer seems to be disappearing rather quickly. I can’t believe I have only posted four times this entire month! (OK, counting this post five)
However, I guess I do have an excuse… I have been spending most of my time reading, writing, and trying to have a social life.
In fact, tonight I was caught up with my homework and could have stitched, but instead I went out to dinner with a friend and afterward we took a nice long walk.
Anyway, although I haven’t stitched much over the past six weeks, as you can see by the picture I have managed to stitch a bit on “Summer’s Magic,” my latest SAL with Dawn.
Friday is the last day of my second summer class, so maybe I will have time to stitch and blog a little more in August… here’s hoping anyway!

Today’s SBQ is:
How do you balance your stitching time with your other obligations such as work, household chores, etc.?
This SBQ has been asked a couple of different times and every time I have had a different answer. The first time it was asked I was soliciting advice. The second time I was flip. This time around though, I only have one word: priorities
You have to know what your priorities in life are. I love to stitch, but unfortunately sometimes there are things that happen in life that just take precedence.
I think when I first asked/answered this question I was afraid if I wasn’t stitching every day that I was in danger of abandoning stitching all together. I now know that is not true. Therefore I have a more relaxed attitude about the time I spend stitching. I may not always be able to stitch when I want, but I can always find time to stitch if I need to!

I started my second summer term today, but as it was “interim” last night I had a chance to stitch.
After a fleeting thought about starting “Tapestry Cat,” (I have all the supplies… I am just waiting for an opportune time to start.) I decided to start my square on Dawn’s fabric for the Quasi-UFO Round Robin that I organized a while back. Her robin is a seasonal one with snowpeoplemen and I have chosen to stitch the summer one.
This progress picture shows my stitching (the flags and stars to the left) along with Dawn’s finished fall snowman, but I just couldn’t get a decent picture of only my stitching.
… Oh, and if you were wondering, I finished my Romantic Poetry course with a very good grade.

It’s official! I remember how to stitch!
Actually, I have been working on Harvey’s web a few minutes at a time here and there, but today was the first day since the SAT a couple of weeks ago that I actually had time to sit down and really stitch.
It was my goal today to finish her today and finish her I did! Dawn and I are now done with our “Harvest Witch” SAL. This has been great fun and is a tradition that we are planning on continuing. Next up: “Summer’s Magic”
