In other stitching news, I worked on “Fairy Flora” tonight. I woke up this morning with a very intense urge to work on her, and since this is SAT weekend (note to self, pop over there and post) I pulled her out.
Sometime this past spring I tried to make Flo one of my stitching priorities so that I could get her finished by the end of this year. However, I haven’t really worked on her since May (I put some stitches into her in August, but didn’t take a picture) and with only eleven days left in 2008, I seriously doubt that will happen. From this progress picture it looks like I have come a long way, but truthfully I still have a long way to go.
With the completion of her second wing, the stitching of Flo is complete. However, I still have some flowers to do at the top and then there’s the beading. I don’t have any idea how long the beading will take, but I think it is safe to say it will take a while. Look at all those “empty” spaces on Flo’s dress, in her hair, and in her wings. Those are ALL spots for beads that need to be attached.
I guess I will revise my goal and shoot for finishing the stitching in 2008 and just pray that I can get the beading done sometime in 2009!
