I reached two very important milestones on “Fairy Flora” today. First, I finally finished all the cross stitching. And second, I passed the 200 hour mark on her. Yes, that’s right: TWO HUNDRED HOURS! I am not sure if I want to laugh or cry. She certainly is beautiful though… I imagine once I get her backstitched and beaded I will faint not only from her beauty, but from the sheer unbelievability that she is done.
After I posted the last progress picture of Flo I received some comments regarding the fabric I am stitching her on. If you haven’t been following my blog since her beginnings, or if you have just totally forgotten (I have been stitching on her for close to three (3!) years now), I am stitching “Fairy Flora” on a piece of 32 count Belfast that I hand-dyed myself. I call the color “Forest Fantasy” and you are right: She looks stunning on it. Unfortunately the pictures don’t do the fabric color justice.
Now that I have finished the cross stitching I am torn: I still have a week of break left. Should I continue in my groove and see if I can finish her before I go back to work OR should I put her aside before I get burnt out?
