Almost There
8 April 2008

I just put the final stitches (and backstitches) into “Poet’s Heart!” I still need to do the beading and add the charms, but it’s getting to be about bedtime so I have decided to wait until tomorrow for that. Look for a Happy Dance then!

Witch and Poet Progress
6 April 2008

Harvest Witch, Progress as of 06.04.08 - Click for a larger image! Today was my “Harvest Witch” SAL day with Dawn and, as you can see, Harvey is coming along swimmingly. Her dress is almost finished so I suppose I better get my rear in gear and order the Kreiniks and the charms pretty soon, eh? ;)

Although I spent today working on “Harvest Witch,” I was focused on “Poet’s Heart” last week. I have finally reached the last band and have been working on it diligently in the hopes of finishing it up soon.

In fact, I think I can go out on a bit of a limb and predict that by this time next week (barring any sort of natural disaster or incapacitating sickness) I will have a happy dance and be able to check another of my BAPs off my list… Sweet!

Productive Stitching Weekend
13 January 2008

Poets Heart, Progress as of 12.01.08 - Click for a larger image! I had another extremely productive stitching weekend. Although I haven’t had a chance to stitch yet today, I have finished my band and rotation on “Poet’s Heart” and worked a little more on “In Cupid’s Garden.”

I am extremely excited to be finished with the band on “Poet’s Heart” because I know that I only have around 10 hours left to stitch before “Poet’s Heart” becomes a happy dance. I will admit that sometimes my estimations for how much more I have left on a piece are not very accurate, but each large band on this piece is taking me around 10 hours to finish and since I only have one band left, next time I work on this piece it will be done! Of course, since I am so close to finishing it I want to work on it some more, but I promised myself that I would move on in my rotation.

I worked a little more on “In Cupid’s Garden” last night because it was still in my stitching bag and even finished an arm, but what I really want to do is start a little something for this next round of my rotation. I am not sure what, but I know I want it to be a quicky, that way when I am finished if I still want to work on “Poet’s Heart” I can go back for another round.

SBQ: Last Year’s Fav
9 January 2008

Poet's Heart, Progress as of 09.01.08 - Click for a larger image! I have been working on “Poet’s Heart” since the beginning of the week and am probably two-thirds of the way finished with stitching this section. I think I have enough time left in this slot of my rotation to finish the bands in this section, but if I run over the 10 hour mark a little bit it’s no big deal.

And now, on to this week’s SBQ! Today’s SBQ is:

What was your favorite finish of 2007?

For me, my favorite finish in 2007 would have to be “Celtic Spring.”

First of all, she is gorgeous.

Second of all, she was my only BAP finish in 2007.

And finally, in addition to the reasons already mentioned, she is my favorite finish of 2007 because she was my first major beading project.
