No-Sew Pinkeep Tutorial

Supplies:

  • Stitched piece
  • Backing fabric
  • 2 pieces of acid-free mat board
  • 5 pieces of quilt batting
  • Glass head pins
  • Ribbon (optional)
  • Scissors
  • Tape Measure/Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Tacky glue

Directions:

Step 1 - Click for a larger image! 1.) Gather your supplies.
Step 2 - Click for a larger image! 2.) Cut two (2) pieces of mat board and five (5) pieces of quilt batting to fit the size of your design.
Step 3 - Click for a larger image! 3.) Take three (3) pieces of the quilt batting, line up, and glue together.

4.) Take remaining two (2) pieces of quilt batting and glue one piece to each mat board.

Step 4 - Click for a larger image! 5.) Take a piece of fabric 1″ wider and longer on each side than the back piece of padded mat board, wrap it, and glue it mitering the corners as you go.
Step 5 - Click for a larger image! 6.) Wrap and glue the needlework around the front piece of padded mat board.
Step 6 - Click for a larger image! 7.) Glue the 3 pieces of quilt batting between the front and back pieces and put under a book to let dry.
Step 7 - Click for a larger image! 8.) Cut an approximate 2″ wide piece of fabric long enough to wrap around the four sides. Fold about 2/3 the way up and finger press.

9.) Fold long fabric over the two glued pieces and glue down. (I used some of pins to help tack the fabric in place.)

Step 8 - Click for a larger image! 10.) Add pins into the sides of the pinkeep.

11.) Use a piece of ribbon to make and bow and add to the top of the pinkeep. (optional)
