10 Ornies in 500 Days

Last year I completed the 25 Project Challenge and this year I have created a new project challenge for myself which I have entitled the 10 Ornies in 500 Days Challenge. The challenge is so entitled because I have set a goal of stitching and finishing 10 Christmas ornaments for myself and various members of my family during the 500 Days (and counting!) that were left of my 101 Things in 1001 Days Project when I decided to set this goal.

Unlike the 25 Project Challenge which was aimed at reducing the amount of unstitched patterns in my stash and had stash acquisition limitations, this challenge has no restrictions attached to it. I just want to achieve “stitch a Christmas ornament for each female member of my immediate family” and “start a small Christmas ornament collection (for myself)” within the allotted time.

Therefore, the list of people that I want to stitch ornaments for by May 22, 2009 (the end of my 1001 Days) are as follows:

  1. ME! (2)
  2. Mom
  3. Sissy
  4. Niece
  5. Nephew
  6. Step-mom
  7. Step-sis
  8. Aunt (Mom’s Sis)
  9. BFF (Best Friend Forever… you know who you are!)

The ornaments will be given to their recipients at Christmas of the year they are finished. (Either 2008 or 2009)

And finally, as a way to keep myself motivated to complete this challenge, I have also joined the Christmas Ornament SAL Blog.

Competed Ornaments:
(s= stitched; f = finished)

  1. “Winter Love” for Step-mom (s,f)
  2. “A Colonial Christmas Ornament” for Me (s,f)
